Decoy Octopus is a member of FOXHOUND, and took part in the revolution
during the Shadow Moses incident. As his name implies, he's a master of
disguise, fully capable of emulating his designated target from
appearance right down to the very personality. He has undergone
extensive surgical procedures (including removing his ears) to
facilitate a blank - canvas effect of his own appearance; thus making
it easier to assume another persons characteristics without any
distinguishing features of his own revealing his true identity. It is
believed that he always uses some kind of alias and is rarely seen
without a disguise.
In the Shadow Moses incident, Octopus
was disguised as the DARPA Chief when he met Snake (the real Chief
having been murdered at the hands of Ocelot only hours prior). Octopus
was killed by the FOXDIE virus that Snake had unknowingly been a
carrier of. Liquid had originally planned to use Decoy Octopus to
coerce Snake into activating Metal Gear using the PAL keys (Snake
believing he was overriding it) however, they believed FOXDIE to be in
the preliminary stages of development, and had not expected it to be in
operational use - or even considered it might be used against them.
Octopus (though successful in his mission) ultimately suffered from the
effectiveness of the virus, and marked the downfall of Foxhound.

Donald Anderson is the office chief of DARPA (Defence Advanced Research
Projects Agency). As a vocal advocate of the nuclear deterrent theory,
he helps initiate the Metal Gear REX project with ArmsTech, drawing
upon the funding of the US' black budget. He and the President of
ArmsTech, Kenneth Baker, make a brief visitation to the hoax Nuclear
Weapons Disposal Facility housing the prototype REX unit that is under
development, only to be taken as hostages during the revolution led by
Foxhound.
Upon refusal to divulge his detonation code to the
terrorists he is subsequently tortured by Revolver Ocelot.
Unfortunately (for all parties concerned) Anderson suffers from a
seemingly accidental death at Ocelots hands. As a result, Liquid
arranges for Decoy Octopus to take his place as a hostage and
manipulate Snake into activating the detonation codes. Snake finds the
decomposed corpse of the real DARPA Chief while held in captivity by
Ocelot, but is not aware of the switch until Vulcan Raven reveals it to
him.
Anderson appeared to have been a personal friend of Jim
Houseman, and was the only person he intended to spare during the
Shadow Moses incident. He was also under orders to appropriate the
tactical data which was stored on an optic disc from Kenneth Baker on
Houseman's behalf. It is later revealed by Ocelot, that Anderson knew
his true identity, and had to be disposed of (negating his "accidental"
death). It is theorised by many that the DARPA Chief Donald Anderson is
actually SIGINT (the founder of ARPA) who became aware of Ocelot's true
identity during operation Snake Eater in 1964.

Gray
Fox was the first choice for a FOXHOUND agent to be sent out once Outer
Heavan was created. He was the only FOXHOUND
agent to be given the name
Fox. He dissapeared when he went on his mission to Outer Heavan, and
Solid Snake saved his life. Then, four years later in Zanzabar, he
fought against Snake. Snake killed Fox as well as Big Boss, and left
Zanzibar to go into early retirement. Gray Fox somehow was still
alive, and scientists kept him on life support to test the Genome
Soldier project on him. This caused him to become very strong and
mutated in ways not thought possible. Gray Fox then wore a suit that
had stealth camoflauge, and was reffered to as the Cyborg Ninja. He
later met up again with Snake for one last time, and helped Snake when
fighting the REX model of Metal Gear. Fox was crushed to death during
the battle.

Kenneth Baker is the president of ArmsTech, a company at the forefront
of the arms industry. For the purpose of recovering financial losses
due to losing projects to rival companies and reduction in SDI
spending, ArmsTech embarks upon the initiation of the Metal Gear REX
project. Baker had bribed the DARPA Chief Donald Anderson prior to the
start of the project in order to have it classified under the "black
budget" of the Pentagon. However, during a planned field exercise of
the prototype REX unit being housed in the fake Nuclear Weapons
Disposal Facility on Shadow Moses Island, Baker was taken hostage along
with the DARPA Chief during the revolution led by Foxhound.
During captivity, Baker manages to hide an optical disk containing the
test data from the exercise, later giving it to Snake. He also gives
the emergency override/detonation (PAL) key to Meryl Silverburgh, a
female soldier who was taken captive having refused to take part in the
revolution. In order to discover his detonation code, Revolver Ocelot
tortures him, crushing his right arm in the process. Baker is later
rescued by Snake, but this is short-lived as his life is ended by the
FOXDIE virus that, at the time, Snake is unknowingly a carrier of.

Liquid Snake was in the Gulf War, and became the leader of the defected FOXHOUND during the 2000s. Driven
to the edge of madness by lies, Liquid Snake came to an end sooner than
was anticipated by giving in to the rage that built up inside of him
against Solid Snake, his clone. His advisor, and head of torture
in the FOXHOUND unit during the Shadow Moses Incident, was a man named Revolver Ocelot. Ocelot was secretly leaking out
information from Liquid over to his real leader, Solidus Snake. After
the fall of Shadow Moses, and the death of Liquid Snake, Ocelot
escaped, and continued to be in league with Solidus, who was then the President of
the United States.

REAL NAME: McDonnel Miller

McDonnel Benedict Miller served as a survival master in the SAS, The
Green Beret Squad and the US Marine's boot camp, prior to being
recruited by Foxhound. Whilst he served as a drill sergeant in
Foxhound, he was labeled "Hell Master" and draftees referred to him as
"Master Miller" as a mark of respect. After the Outer Heaven incident
and the uprising of Zanzibar Land, Miller retired along with Colonel
Roy Campbell, relocating to Alaska.
During the Shadow
Moses incident, Miller was called out of retirement to provide support
to Solid Snake via a radio uplink from his home. Unbeknownst to Snake
and the additional support team members, Miller was attacked and
murdered at his home before establishing contact. Liquid Snake then
assumed Miller's identity, and masqueraded as him in an ingenious plot
to manipulate Snake into inputting the Metal Gear launch codes.

Mei Ling serves as an engineer and data processing specialist,
recording the mission data throughout the Shadow Moses incident. She is
highly accredited for designing the Codec and Soliton Radar systems
Snake uses, and frequently bestows affable counsel in the form of
proverbs and quotations.
In the latter part of the
operation, she helps bring to light Master Miller's true identity,
informing Snake that his transmition is coming from within the
underground base itself. Whilst Snake attempts his escape, she makes a
hard copy of all the operational data and radio transmitions as a fail
safe for an impending government cover - up.

Niece of Col. Roy Cambell, Meryl Silverburgh was still only a teenager
when she decided to become a soldier. She never wore make-up and
never acted like a lady, because she didn't want to. However, she still
got alot of attention because of how extrordinarily beautiful she was.
She was sent in to Shadow Moses
as a soldier. She was later taken prisoner and held there, only to
escape and find Solid Snake. She ended up treaming up with him and
helping in any way she could to defeat FOXHOUND along side Snake and
stay alive. It was later found out that Meryl was, in fact, Roy
Cambell's daughter, not his neice. Meryl and Snake fell deeply in love
with each other over the course of the Shadow Moses Revolt, and escaped
together. Supposedly Meryl and Snake became lovers and lived together
for some time before Solid Snake formed PHILANTHROPY with Otacon.
Meryl's exact location at this time is unknown.

brother of Emma Emmerich, Hal Emmerich was one of the experts who was
working on the development of Metal Gear REX, the unit that Solid Snake
destroyed in the Shadow Moses incident. He later teamed up with Solid
Snake and helped him destroy REX. After Shadow Moses, the two formed
PHILANTHROPY, an anti-Metal Gear organization. They then began
searching for Metal Gear development sites and destroying them before
any more Metal Gears were made.

Colonel Roy
Cambell was Solid Snake's Commander during the Fall of Zanzabar. He
later came back into play after calling Snake back into action in 2005
to work under him yet again in the Shadow Moses incident. One of the
main reasons he trusted Snake on the mission was because his neice,
Meryl, had been taken captive there at the Shadow Moses base. Not much
in known about what became of Cambell after the year 2005.

Shalashaska, a russion slang word meaning "prison is known
as the codbreaker ADAM for the CIA when he was in his twenties, and a
very good spy who has double, triple, and quadruple-crossed just about
everyone he has come across. He is said to be the son of The Boss and
the Sorrow. Sometime after the Tselinoyarsk incident of 1964, he was
captured by the Philosophers, who later called themselves the
Patiots. He was then sent out to work undercover for them,
working as a double agent for a long time until he finally revaled
himself at the end of the S3 plan. The truth is, that when it comes
right
down to it, Ocelot is his own agent, noone else's. If he feels that he
is being slighted, he will do something about it. He is a master
gunslinger, and the most feircesom villain in the entire MGS cast, in
my opinion. A patriot agent, he
helped Solidus Snake (George Sears) gain control over the Metal Gear
RAY plans, and leak them out. The MARINES built one of them for
themselves. Of course, after this was all done, Ocelot was sent to take
it back. To return it to the PATRIOTS. Solid Snake was on the tanker at
the same time Ocelot blew it up, and Snake was set up as the culprit
who did it, therefore forcing Snake to fake his death, then wait until
the time was right. The only thing that Ocelot has no control over is
the fact that Liquid Snake's spirit lives within him.

Snake became a living legend after his the fall of Zanzabar,
which was his second mission for the secret special forces unit
FOXHOUND. After the Zanzabar incident, however, Snake decided to go
under a different name, and live a quiet life in Alaska. He found out
that Big Boss, his former leader and enemy, was his father, and it was
too much for Snake to go back into the world of war again. . . or so he
thought. In 2005, he was called back into the world he left
behind by his last Commander, Col. Roy Cambell. This time, it was
to face off against Snake's former unit: FOXHOUND. After taking
down all of the defected FOXHOUND members, Snake faced off against his
clone, Liquid Snake. Snake now realizes that he and Liquid are two
clones taken from the DNA of Big Boss. After killing Liquid and the
newest Metal Gear model, REX, in the process, Revolver Ocelot escapes
with more Metal Gear plans.

stab wound.

was part of the team of russians that infiltrated the tanker. Ocelot
betrayed Sergei and killed him on the Tanker. Olga later gave birth to
a child, and then it was taken awy from her by the patriots. They used
this as a way to control Olga and make her do what they said. It
allowed her "role" in the S3 plan to play out perfectly . . . until she
and Solid Snake teamed up later. Olga told Raiden about her child and
then was killed by Solidus Snake.

before Raiden was involved in the Big Shell plan, he was in a war and
trained under Solidus Snake in the 80s. He became so fearsom with his
fighting skills, that he was called such names as "white devil" and
"jack the ripper". He soon became the leader od what was called the
small boy unit. Solidus Snake reffered to Raiden as his son.
Raiden's memory was later altered by the group FOXHOUND.
Raiden
joined FOXHOUND At a young age, and went through extensive
VR training to become a great soldier. But the thing he didnt count on
was that the real world can break the rules of a simulated training
program, and Raiden needed help to get through the Big Shell mission
alive. He had help from Solid Snake, the now infamous legend who
supposedly sank a tanker two years ago that held the newest Metal Gear
model, and killed hundreds of marines in the process. Raiden was
featured in the S3 plan at the Big Shell, and Arsenal Gear's AI took
part in making him play out his "role".

After selling the tactical data from the Metal Gear REX project on the
black market, which he had retrieved from the Shadow Moses incident,
Revolver Ocelot had apparently disappeared without a trace. It was in
2007 he resurfaced, during what was later to be known as "The Tanker
Incident." His mission was to retrieve the new type of Metal Gear unit,
"Metal Gear RAY" from the U.S. Marines Corps, and return it to its
rightful owners, the Patriots. Oddly enough, Ocelot has found a
replacement arm which was surgically attached by a high-tech
neuro-surgeon in Lyon, France; the arm itself had previously belonged
to none other than Liquid Snake. Through the arm Liquid can super
naturally take over the rest of Ocelots body and mind. Whilst Ocelot is
in the process of retrieving Metal Gear RAY from the tanker, Liquid's
arm takes over. This is seemingly caused by Solid Snake's presence on
the tanker. While Liquid is the conscious owner of Ocelot's body, he
remotely detonates SEMTEX set on key structural points of the ship to
dispose of it, along with the Marine Commandant, Snake, and
Gurlukovich's men. The tanker explodes and splits in two, leaving the
perfect opportunity for Liquid (still controlling Ocelot) to escape
with the prototype Metal Gear RAY unit intact. Two years later during
"The Big Shell incident,"
